Caesar Mugo secured his ticket to the 2026 NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale after emerging as the Gross Men Winner during the Kiambu Golf Club leg on Saturday, August 29.
Mugo carded a gross 83 off a handicap of nine to claim the Gross Men title and book his place at the season-ending Grand Finale, scheduled for Karen Country Club on November 28.

The victory marked another impressive outing for Mugo at Kiambu, having won Division One during last year’s NCBA Golf Series leg at the club.
In the ladies’ category, Wanjiru Kamau posted the day’s best gross score, returning a gross 76 off a handicap of four to take the Gross Lady Winner title and qualify for the Grand Finale.
Agnes Nyawira was the overall star of the day, collecting 42 points to claim the Overall Winner title and secure her place at the Karen showdown.
Nyawira added two more accolades to her haul, winning the Longest Drive Ladies prize and coming closest to the pin among the ladies after finishing just three feet from the hole.
Kelvin Nganga claimed the Men’s Winner title with 38 points, edging Patrick Gakure into second place on countback after the two players finished level on points. Nganga’s victory also earned him a place at the Grand Finale.
Rose Kabutha took the Ladies Winner title after returning 40 points, while Alex Kamau emerged as the Junior Winner with 35 points. Both players also secured qualification for the Grand Finale.
The Kiambu leg attracted 144 golfers, with players battling across various categories as the race for places at the Karen finale intensified.
Mutungi Shines at U.S. Kids Golf Tour
Meanwhile, Hakeem Mutungi produced the standout performance during the second leg of the 2026 NCBA U.S. Kids Golf Fall Local Tour – Nairobi at Ruiru Sports Club on Sunday, August 30.
Competing in the Boys 10 category, Mutungi carded an impressive two-under-par 34 over nine holes, recording the best score of the day across all categories. He finished ahead of James Tino and Ivan Kipyegon.
Ashley Gachora continued her fine run in the girls’ competition, carding eight-over-par 80 in the Girls 13-14 category to claim her second consecutive victory and extend her lead in the standings.
Aria Dodhia returned three-over-par 75 to win the Girls 11-12 category, while Nia Kiuna-Kovacs took the Girls 9-10 title with a score of 13-over-par 49.
In the Girls 8 & Under category, Zara Mutungi emerged victorious after carding five-over-par 41.
Wahome Mutahi won the Boys 15-18 category with 80, while Xia Yu defeated Adam Nesbitt on countback in the Boys 13-14 category after both players finished on 78.
Paren Reel also secured a second consecutive victory in the Boys 11 category, carding six-over-par 78 after triumphing in Thika a week earlier.
Attention now shifts to Limuru Country Club, where the third leg of the tour will be held on Sunday, September 6.
