The Kenya Federation of Roller Skating (KFRS) has disowned any skaters claiming to represent the country in international competitions in 2026, saying no national qualifiers have been conducted this year.
In a notice, KFRS President Antony Kamunyu Mburu said the federation had neither qualified nor authorised any athlete to represent Kenya outside the country this year.

“KFRS confirms that no national qualifiers have been conducted in 2026 for any skating discipline,” the federation said in the statement.
The federation named an individual among those it said had not been authorised to represent Kenya, adding that the position applied to all other skaters.
The warning covers freestyle, speed, downhill, skateboarding, scooters and online hockey.
KFRS said athletes must first undergo the appropriate national qualification process before representing Kenya at international competitions.
“All athletes must be qualified through the appropriate national qualification process before participating in any competition as representatives of Kenya,” the federation said.
It further warned that no athlete, official or group could claim to have the federation’s backing without documented approval.
The federation also clarified that it would not send any skater outside Kenya in 2026, regardless of discipline.
“Accordingly, KFRS is not sending any skater outside Kenya in 2026, and this applies to all disciplines and all athletes,” it said.
KFRS urged anyone seeking to verify the status of a person claiming to be an authorised Kenyan representative to contact the federation directly.
The federation said it conducts official correspondence exclusively through its website and official email address and does not recognise other platforms or contacts purporting to represent it.
KFRS said its focus was on building a properly trained and prepared national team, with international competition targeted for 2027.
The federation said the team would compete internationally from 2027 “once the team is ready to represent Kenya.”
