All eyes will be on Embu this weekend as the 2026 National Sevens Circuit enters its penultimate leg, with the Embu Sevens set for Saturday and Sunday at Embu Stadium.
The tournament comes at a critical stage of the season, with teams fighting for crucial points as the battle for overall circuit honours enters its final stretch.

The opening four legs have produced a fiercely contested season, with KCB Rugby and Kabras Sugar sharing the spoils after winning two titles each.
KCB lifted the opening Prinsloo Sevens before successfully defending the Kabeberi Sevens title, while Kabras Sugar claimed victories at the Dala Sevens and, most recently, the Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa.
KCB currently sit top of the Division One standings with 76 points, just three ahead of defending rivals Kabras Sugar on 73.
The narrow gap sets the stage for another intense contest in Embu, with only the season-ending Christie Sevens remaining after this weekend’s action.
Embu RFC Tournament Director Wilkister Miranga said preparations for the tournament had been completed and the venue was ready to welcome teams and fans.
“We are all set for Embu Sevens and looking forward to hosting another exciting leg of the National Sevens Circuit,” said Miranga.
She noted that the tight competition at the top of the standings was expected to produce high-quality matches.
“The tournament comes at a very important stage of the season, with the competition at the top very close, so we expect highly competitive matches. Embu Stadium is ready to welcome the teams and fans, and we are confident that everyone will have a great experience this weekend.”

Miranga also welcomed Tusker’s support, saying the partnership would enhance both the tournament logistics and the overall fan experience.
“We appreciate Tusker for coming on board and supporting Embu Sevens. Their contribution towards the tournament logistics and fan experience is a welcome boost,” she said.
She added that the Tusker Village and entertainment programme would provide an additional attraction for fans attending the tournament.
With only three points separating KCB and Kabras, Embu presents a crucial opportunity for either side to strengthen its position before the final showdown in Nairobi.
Menengai Oilers are third in Division One with 58 points, while Daystar Falcons and Kenya Harlequin are tied on 52 points. Mwamba occupy sixth position on 45 points.
In Division Two, Stallions Rugby lead the standings with 69 points, followed by Kabarak University and Zetech Oaks on 44 points apiece. Northern Suburbs are fourth with 42 points.
The 2026 National Sevens Circuit will conclude with the Christie Sevens in Nairobi on September 12–13, when the overall champions will be crowned.
Fans attending the Embu Sevens will also have the chance to enjoy activations under Tusker’s Na Rugby platform, with the Tusker Village and an official after-party forming part of the weekend’s entertainment programme.
With KCB holding a slender three-point advantage over Kabras, Embu promises to be more than just another stop on the circuit—it could prove decisive in determining who enters the final leg with the upper hand.
