The association said confirmed infections among frontline healthcare workers were a source of concern, raising fears among medical staff and their families.

Authorities have further traced passengers who travelled on the same flight as the deceased. So far, 27 passengers who may have had contact with the patient have been identified and contacted, with public health measures being undertaken.

KMA said the period could bring strong winds, rough seas, high waves, heavy rainfall and reduced visibility, creating risks for vessels and people carrying out activities at sea and along the coastline.

KMA said the ongoing crisis highlights deeper weaknesses in the management of labour relations between health workers and their employers.
