The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has stopped the distribution, sale, issuance or use of a batch of containing substandard condoms.
In a statement, the board recalled the substandard “Sure” lubricated condoms dotted, “Batch No.2405055.”

The statement was dispatched on Tuesday.
The condoms were manufactured by a private limited company, according to the statement that was signed by the board’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), F. Siyoi.
“The product samples did not comply with the specifications for the freedom from holes (conductivity) test performed,” Dr Siyoi said.
The board advised all pharmaceutical outlets, healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals, and members of the public to “immediately quarantine the product and stop further distribution, sale, issuance, or use of the product batch.”
Dr Siyoi directed that the product be returned to the nearest healthcare facility or respective suppliers.
Use of substandard or counterfeit condoms and medicines compromises healthcare provision.
PPB encouraged the public to report any suspected cases of sub-standard medicines or adverse reactions to the nearest healthcare facility or the board.
