Thousands of student-athletes across Kenya are set to benefit after KCB Bank committed KSh20 million towards this year’s Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term Two Games.
The sponsorship, announced on Friday, sees KCB come on board as the Title and Kit Sponsor, reinforcing its support for youth sports development while promoting environmental conservation in learning institutions.

Of the total sponsorship package, KSh12 million will go towards the purchase of kits and trophies, while KSh8 million will fund activations during the regional and national championships scheduled between July 6 and August 1.
Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony in Nairobi, KCB Group Chief Risk Officer Faith Basiye said the bank remains committed to using sports as a platform for nurturing future champions.
“The sponsorship underscores KCB’s long-standing commitment to developing sports as a catalyst for nurturing future champions while creating opportunities for them to showcase their talent, build lifelong values and pursue excellence. As a Bank, we are proud to be part of this rich legacy,” said Basiye.
Beyond sports, KCB will use the games to champion environmental conservation by educating students and communities on sustainable practices aimed at reducing carbon emissions and creating healthier learning environments.
The regional competitions will bring together top schools from all eight regions, with the action beginning in the Rift Valley Region at Narok High School from July 6 to 11.
Other regional championships will be held in Homa Bay, Nairobi, Kwale, Makueni, Bungoma, MPESA Academy and Mandera before culminating in the National Finals at MPESA Academy from July 28 to August 1.
KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi welcomed the sponsorship, describing it as a major boost for school sports across the country.
“The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association appreciates KCB Bank for its continued commitment to the growth of school sports in Kenya. This sponsorship is a significant investment in our learners, providing them with an opportunity to compete, develop their talents and build values such as discipline, teamwork and resilience,” said Ngugi.
This year’s Term Two Games will feature a packed programme including football, volleyball, netball, rugby sevens, basketball 3×3, badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis, chess, scrabble, cricket, lacrosse, beach volleyball and baseball.
The sponsorship is expected to enhance the quality of competition while providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their abilities and attract opportunities at higher levels of sport.
