The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nairobi has rejected what it terms as “baseless allegations and hostile narratives” by Israel, accusing its rival of spreading disinformation over the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

In a press release, the embassy dismissed claims that Iran’s recent actions amount to aggression, insisting instead that they constitute lawful self-defense under international law.
“What the Islamic Republic of Iran is doing is legitimate and lawful self-defense… in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter,” the statement read.
The embassy accused Israel and the United States of carrying out what it described as “premeditated” and “barbaric military aggression” against Iran’s sovereignty,
rejecting the notion of a “preemptive strike” as lacking legal legitimacy.
It further alleged that the conflict escalated following attacks on Iranian territory, including what it described as a deadly strike on civilians.
“This was not an act of self-defense, but rather a premeditated attack,” the embassy said.
On its nuclear program, Iran reiterated that its activities remain peaceful and transparent.
The embassy stated that its nuclear efforts have been verified by international inspectors, adding, “Not a single IAEA report has indicated any deviation toward military purposes.”
It also criticized Israel for what it called double standards, noting that Israel is not a signatory to key international nuclear agreements.
The statement further accused Israel of portraying itself as a victim while allegedly engaging in actions that violate international law.
“The aggressor is once again playing the victim card,” the embassy said, referencing ongoing international legal scrutiny of Israeli leadership.
Addressing regional tensions, the embassy warned neighboring countries against allowing their territories to be used for attacks against Iran.
It maintained that any such actions would be considered acts of aggression, warranting a response.
The embassy also linked disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz to what it termed as external military aggression, stating that restrictions in the strategic waterway are a direct consequence of the conflict.
“When war is imposed upon you, do you sit silently, or do you defend your homeland?” the statement posed.
Reaffirming its stance, Iran said it remains committed to peace and called on the international community to act.
“We call upon the international community to condemn these acts of aggression and hold the perpetrators accountable,” the embassy urged.
