Speaking in Kisii, Onkendi said the relaunch of the Suneka Airstrip and the upgrading of roads would address long-standing challenges facing the Kisii community.
“The allocation of Sh500 million towards the Suneka project is a commitment to equitable development, ensuring no region is left behind. What we witnessed is a turning point,” said Onkendi.
President Ruto recently concluded a four-day tour of Kisii and Nyamira counties, where he officially opened several projects and pledged continued government support for infrastructure and social services.
Onkendi, who is seeking to unseat the incumbent, Dr. Charles Onchoke in the next general election, emphasized the importance of working with the government of the day.
“Sustained engagement with President Ruto’s government is key to ensuring that these projects are completed and maintained effectively,” he said.
