Java House has opened a new outlet at a Hass Petroleum service station in Narok town, targeting residents, students and travellers heading to the Maasai Mara and other destinations in western Kenya.

The outlet is expected to serve Narok’s growing population, including students at Maasai Mara University, local businesses and commuters using the busy route connecting the South Rift to western Kenya and the Lake Victoria region.

Java House Group chief executive Priscilla Gathungu said the expansion would bring the restaurant brand closer to customers beyond major urban centres.

“Narok is a growing town, a hub for Kenya’s tourism industry, and an important stop for travellers heading to the South Rift, Western Kenya, and the Lake Victoria region,” she said.

“We are honoured to work with partners like Hass Petroleum as we grow, bringing Java Love closer to where our customers live, work, and travel.”

Hass Petroleum chief executive Abdusalam Salim Mohamed said the partnership would allow customers to access fuel, shopping and dining services at one location.

“For travellers on this busy route, and for people living and working in Narok, our customers can now refuel, shop, and enjoy quality dining in one stop,” he said.

Mohamed added that such partnerships were important in responding to customer needs at the company’s retail stations.

The new outlet is also expected to create employment opportunities for local residents, although the company did not disclose the number of jobs anticipated.

The Narok opening follows Java House’s recent expansion to Windsor along Nairobi’s Northern Bypass, as well as outlets in Thika, Makongeni and Rabai Road in Buruburu, Nairobi, and Jinja in Uganda.

The company now operates 115 outlets across 20 cities and towns in East Africa, according to the statement.

Founded in Kenya in 1999, Java House has expanded beyond its original coffee-house concept into casual dining. Its sister brands include Planet Yoghurt, 360 Degrees Pizza and Kukito, which offers quick-service meals.

The company also supports community initiatives through the Java House Foundation, focusing on education, agriculture and environmental sustainability.

Hass Petroleum, established in 1997, operates in several African markets, with a network of more than 120 retail stations, according to the company.
