Alliance High School has convened an emergency parents’ meeting after a fire incident affected a section of one of its dormitories, amid heightened national concern over student safety in boarding schools.
In a communication to parents dated June 4, 2026, the school said a small section of mattresses in one of its older dormitory facilities caught fire, but the situation was quickly contained by the administration and relevant emergency teams.

“We are grateful to report that the situation was promptly contained and managed by the school administration and relevant teams,” the school said in the letter.
“Most importantly, all students are safe, accounted for, and continuing with their normal morning activities and academic routines.”
The incident comes at a time when the country remains sensitive to cases of school fires and student unrest, issues that have repeatedly raised concerns about safety in boarding institutions.
To address parents’ concerns, the school’s Board of Management and administration have scheduled a meeting for 10 a.m. Thursday at the school.
According to the communication, parents will be briefed on the circumstances surrounding the incident, the measures already taken by the school, and plans aimed at ensuring student welfare and safety.
“The purpose of the meeting is to update parents on the incident and the measures that have been taken, address any concerns and provide an opportunity for clarification, and discuss the way forward as a school community,” the letter states.
The school has also proposed that parents leave with their sons after the meeting and spend the weekend with them at home.
School administrators said the move is intended to give students an opportunity to be with their families while the institution conducts further internal reviews and prepares measures to ensure continued normalcy.
The administration emphasized that the decision was precautionary and not a response to any immediate danger.
“We wish to reassure all parents that there is no cause for alarm. The students remain calm, safe, and under the care and supervision of the school,” the letter reads.
Alliance High School further said the temporary arrangement is intended to maintain the confidence, well-being, and peace of mind of students, parents, and the wider school community.
The outcome of the parents’ meeting and any decisions reached are expected to provide further clarity on the school’s next course of action following the incident.
