The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reminded all 2025 KCSE candidates to complete their applications before the portal closes at midnight tonight.
Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Wahome assured students and parents that there is enough space for everyone, with over 1.4 million slots available across universities and colleges nationwide.

“This year, KUCCPS has opened applications for 508 institutions, including public and private universities and TVET colleges,” said Dr. Wahome.
“Every student, regardless of their grade, has an opportunity to pursue higher education.”
The available capacity includes 322,396 places in universities and more than 1.1 million in TVET institutions.
As of Wednesday morning, 207,308 students — representing 77 percent of those eligible for university placement — had submitted their applications.
However, the CEO raised concern over incomplete submissions.
“Many students have selected their courses and placed them in the ‘Course Basket’ but have not clicked the final submission button,” she cautioned.
“Adding programmes in the basket is not an application. You must complete the process and submit your choices before the midnight deadline.”
Dr. Wahome also encouraged students to consider technical programmes, citing strong performance in subjects such as Drawing and Design, Music, Electricity, and Woodwork, which recorded pass rates above 80 percent in the 2025 KCSE.
“These areas offer vast opportunities for career growth,” she noted.
For those who miss today’s deadline or wish to revise their choices, KUCCPS will open a Second Revision window from May 16 to May 22, 2026.
“Following the closure of the portal tonight, we will process applications and then re-open for those who may need to adjust their choices,” Dr. Wahome said.
She also expressed gratitude to KUCCPS staff for their dedication during the busy application period.
“I want to sincerely appreciate our technical staff who have been all over the country supporting Kenyans with their applications, as well as our ICT team for ensuring the system remains robust and available for this massive exercise,” she said.
All eligible students are urged to finalize their applications immediately at students.kuccps.ac.ke before the 11.59 p.m. deadline.
