The association said confirmed infections among frontline healthcare workers were a source of concern, raising fears among medical staff and their families.

The talks focused on strengthening regional health security, mobilising climate finance, promoting investment and advancing regional integration among EAC Partner States.

Muriuki said surveillance operations were ongoing, with screening being conducted at all points of entry and relevant agencies working together to strengthen the country’s preparedness.

Njuki emphasised the importance of precautionary measures, noting that Ebola is a serious disease requiring vigilance and a coordinated response from both the public and health authorities.

The ministry dismissed concerns that the directive covers all government departments.
