Governor Amos Nyaribo.

Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo has challenged newly sworn-in members of the County Public Service Board (CPSB) to uphold integrity and steer clear of corruption, particularly in recruitment processes, as they assume office.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony held at the Governor’s Boardroom, Nyaribo warned the officials against engaging in unethical practices that have in the past tainted public service recruitment in the county.

“The major thing that has been repeated is integrity. Go and serve with integrity,” the governor said.

Nyaribo cited previous instances in which some officials allegedly solicited bribes from desperate job seekers and their families in exchange for employment opportunities, urging the new board members not to fall into the same trap.

“There are cases of previous members of the board soliciting bribes from poor parents to offer employment. I hope such temptations escape you,” he said.

The governor expressed confidence in the newly constituted team, describing its members as professionals capable of delivering ethical and efficient service to residents.

“This team appears to be beyond reproach. You are ready to serve because all of you are professionals,” he added.

Earlier, Nyamira County Attorney Erastus Orina praised the composition of the board, saying it strikes a balance between youthful leadership and experienced professionals.

He noted that the nominee for the position of Secretary to the County Public Service Board is only 32 years old, highlighting the county’s commitment to giving young professionals an opportunity to serve.

“We have a fairly good mix on the board between young people and professionals,” Orina said.

The swearing-in of the board members and the Chief Executive Officer marks a significant step in strengthening Nyamira County’s public service structures.

County leaders expressed optimism that the new team will enhance transparency, accountability and effective management of human resources for the benefit of residents.
