Tusker has injected KES 1.5 million into the 2026 Prinsloo Sevens, reaffirming its commitment to Kenyan rugby ahead of the opening leg of the National Sevens Circuit set for July 25-26 at Nakuru Athletic Club.

The sponsorship will support the organisation and delivery of the tournament, including contributing to the winners’ prize purse, as top men’s and women’s rugby clubs begin their quest for national sevens glory. The tournament is organised by Nakuru Rugby Football Club.

Beyond the financial support, Tusker will once again host the tournament’s official after-parties on both days of competition, adding to the vibrant fan experience that has become synonymous with the Prinsloo Sevens.

Speaking during the sponsorship announcement, Tusker Sports Brand Manager Keza Mpyisi said the partnership reflects the brand’s enduring support for local sport and the passionate rugby community across the country.

“Rugby has built one of the most passionate sporting communities in Kenya, and the National Sevens Circuit continues to showcase the very best of local talent while bringing fans together across the country,” said Mpyisi.

“Through our Tusker Na Rugby campaign, we are proud to support platforms that celebrate Kenyan excellence and create memorable experiences for fans. Prinsloo Sevens is a fitting stage to begin this journey, and we look forward to an exciting circuit ahead.”

The sponsorship underscores Tusker’s continued investment in Kenyan sport and its commitment to nurturing local talent while creating memorable experiences for supporters. The National Sevens Circuit remains a crucial pathway for players aspiring to represent Kenya on the international stage.

Prinsloo Sevens Tournament Director Edward Moseti welcomed the renewed partnership, saying the sponsorship would help deliver a high-quality tournament and enhance the overall fan experience.

“Tusker has been a valued partner of the Prinsloo Sevens over the years, and we are delighted to have them back as we launch another exciting National Sevens Circuit season,” said Moseti.

“Their support enables us to deliver a world-class tournament for players and fans alike, while contributing to the continued growth of rugby in Kenya. We are looking forward to welcoming teams and supporters to Nakuru for what promises to be an unforgettable opening weekend.”

The 2026 National Sevens Circuit will run from July 25 to September 13, featuring six tournaments across the country as teams battle for circuit honours.

Defending champions KCB Rugby begin the campaign as favourites after a dominant 2025 season in which they amassed a record 126 points and captured four of the six circuit titles. However, the bankers are expected to face stiff competition from Strathmore Leos, who denied them victory at both the Prinsloo and Embu Sevens last season, as well as perennial challengers Kabras Sugar, Menengai Oilers and Kenya Harlequin.

After the season-opening Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru, the circuit will head to Kisumu for the Dala Sevens on August 1-2 before moving to Nairobi for the Kabeberi Sevens on August 15-16. Mombasa will host the Driftwood Sevens on August 22-23, followed by the Embu Sevens on September 5-6.

The circuit will culminate with the Christie Sevens in Nairobi on September 12-13, where the 2026 National Sevens Circuit champions will be crowned.
