President William Ruto has concluded a four-day development tour of Kisii and Nyamira counties, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering on its promises while dismissing opposition criticism.
The President said his government remains focused on its development agenda and will not be distracted by what he termed as divisive and abusive politics.

He challenged opposition leaders to present their policies and track records to Kenyans instead of engaging in personal attacks.
Ruto also emphasized continued cooperation between the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) under the Broad-Based Government framework, saying the partnership is key to fostering national unity and ending tribal politics.
During the tour, the President launched and inspected several major projects across the two counties.
In Suneka, he unveiled plans to upgrade the local airstrip into a fully operational airport, aimed at improving regional connectivity.
He also commissioned infrastructure projects including the Sameta–Egetuki–Ikoba road, the Etago–Ekona–Geteri–Nyamaiya road, and multiple other road networks expected to boost trade and ease transport.
In aaddition, he inspected the construction of modern markets and launched the Magara Bridge.
In the health sector, Ruto commissioned the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Gucha Campus and laid the foundation for another KMTC in Nyangweta to strengthen healthcare training and service delivery.
The President further highlighted large-scale investments in the region, including road construction, affordable housing, electricity connectivity, and market development.
In Kisii County alone, he noted ongoing and planned road works covering hundreds of kilometres, alongside significant funding for housing and industrial projects such as the County Aggregation and Industrial Park.
In Nyamira County, he announced investments in housing, markets, and health infrastructure, including the upgrade of Nyamira County Referral Hospital and plans for a new stadium.
Water projects also featured prominently, with the President launching the rehabilitation and expansion of Kisii water supply systems and commissioning the Nyamira Water Supply Project, which will connect thousands of households to clean water.
Kisii Governor Simba Arati welcomed the collaboration between national and county governments, noting that such partnerships are critical to accelerating development in the region.
