The County Government of Nandi has honored world marathon champion Sebastian Sawe with a modern three-bedroom housing unit under the Boma Yangu Affordable Housing Programme.
The award, announced on Monday, recognizes Sawe’s outstanding achievements and contribution to Kenya’s sporting excellence.

Governor Stephen Sang said the gesture was both a tribute to Sawe’s success and a demonstration of the county’s commitment to expanding access to quality housing.
“This award symbolizes our dedication to promoting excellence while ensuring our people benefit from modern, affordable housing,” he stated.
The unit, valued at approximately KSh 4.8 million, is located in Kapsabet opposite the County Headquarters and near Kapsabet Boys High School.
It features a contemporary design and high-quality finishes, reflecting the government’s push to deliver dignified housing solutions.
Governor Sang emphasized that the recognition was not only about celebrating Sawe’s personal triumphs but also about inspiring young athletes and professionals across the county.
“Sebastian Sawe has brought pride to Nandi and to Kenya. By honoring him in this way, we encourage others to pursue excellence in their fields,” he added.
