The 12th leg of the 2026 Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) Series tees off this weekend at Nakuru Golf Club with golfers set to battle for top honours and a share of the Ksh 500,000 prize purse at the NCBA Coronation & Bendor Trophy.
The three-day tournament, running from Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31, has attracted more than 100 elite amateur golfers, led by in-form Elvis Muigua who heads into the event fresh from winning the Ronald Marshall & Tobby Gibson Cup at Njoro Country Club last weekend.

A new champion is guaranteed this year following the absence of defending winner John Lejirma, who has since turned professional.
Muigua will face stiff competition from a strong field that includes Adel Balala, William Odek, Uganda’s Joseph Kasozi, Elly Barno, Rwanda’s Felix Dusabe and John Kamaisi, who currently sits second in the 2026 KAGC rankings.
The women’s field will feature Kellie Gachaga, Mercy Nyanchama and home player Emma Pennington.
The 2026 KAGC standings remain closely contested, with Jay Sandhu leading the rankings on 560.00 points. Kamaisi follows on 373.20 points, while Junaid Ayaz Manji is third with 349.52 points. Muigua occupies fourth place on 347.26 points, with Amos Odongo completing the top five on 326.29 points.
Away from Nakuru, the NCBA Golf Series will continue at the Moi Airbase Mug on Saturday, May 30, where more than 80 golfers are expected to compete for top honours and qualification slots to the season-ending Grand Finale.
At the junior level, the NCBA Faldo Junior Tour Kenya Championship will run from Saturday, May 30 to Monday, June 1, underscoring NCBA’s continued investment in talent development across all levels of the game.
Speaking ahead of the weekend’s tournaments, John Gachora said the bank remains committed to creating a clear development pathway for golfers.
“This is yet another weekend where we have activities from the junior level to the elite amateur level. Again, more golfers will have the chance to qualify for the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale this weekend. Junior development is a core part of NCBA’s sponsorship strategy,” Gachora said.
“This Series is a platform where young talent is discovered, nurtured and celebrated, and we look forward to a good weekend,” he added.
