A midnight tip-off from vigilant residents helped police arrest four suspects at Kisii Bus Park and recover a homemade gun before crime struck.
Panic erupted at the bus park after suspects tried to flee police, but officers from Kisii Central Police Station swiftly cornered and arrested all four in a dramatic crackdown.

According to investigators, the suspects were caught off guard when officers arrived.
“As the officers approached, the suspects attempted to flee in different directions,” the police said in a statement.
“But the officers managed to corner them and bring the situation under control.”
The four suspects were arrested during the operation.
Police said a search conducted on them uncovered a homemade pistol loaded with a live 9mm round, two knives, a hammer and other crude weapons believed to have been intended for criminal use.
The late-night incident left many nearby residents shaken, with some praising the quick police response and the courage of those who shared information with authorities.
In its statement, the DCI commended members of the public for their vigilance, saying the operation was made possible through “timely information” from residents.
The agency also reaffirmed its commitment to public safety, noting that efforts to track down and dismantle criminal activities would continue.
The suspects remain in custody and are expected to be arraigned after police complete processing and investigations.
