Presidential aspirant Fred Matiang’i has called for peaceful and respectful political campaigns, urging leaders to abandon insults.
Dr Matiang’i said leaders should focus on issues that matter to citizens ahead of and after the next General Election.

Speaking during the launch of the Jubilee Party Nyandarua County headquarters in Olkalou, Matiang’i said the country’s political discourse must be anchored on dignity, unity, and national cohesion.
“We must reject politics of insults and division. Let us engage one another on ideas and solutions that improve the lives of Kenyans,” he said.
“Our campaigns should reflect respect, maturity, and a shared commitment to the country’s future.”
Dr Matiang’i, who is positioning himself for the presidency, emphasized that his bid is grounded in accountability, service, and results, pointing to his record in public service.
He previously served in key ministries, including Interior and Education, where he was associated with reforms in national examinations and security operations.
“My leadership will be anchored on experience and delivery. Kenyans deserve a government that works and delivers measurable results,” he added.
On youth empowerment, Dr Matiang’i said the Jubilee Party is committed to nurturing a new generation of leaders by creating space for young people in governance and decision-making processes.
“The future of this country lies with our young people. Jubilee is deliberately opening up leadership opportunities and ensuring that nominations are free and fair so that every aspirant has an equal chance,” he said.
Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni revealed that the party has reached an understanding with like-minded opposition partners, including the Democratic Congress Party (DCP), to run a coordinated but competitive campaign in the Mount Kenya region.
Kioni said the arrangement aims to strengthen democratic choice while consolidating support across key voting blocs.
“We are working with partners who share our vision to ensure voters have credible options while building a strong, united front,” he said.
