Home players Nick Markham and Kate Ngotho emerged as the overall winners at the latest leg of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series held on Saturday at Karen Country Club, where golfers competed for top honours and sought coveted spots at the Series Grand Finale scheduled for later this year.
Markham claimed the Overall Men’s title after returning an impressive score of 75 gross in a competitive field that featured some of the country’s top club golfers.

Speaking after his victory, he expressed delight at securing his place at the season-ending finale, noting that although his putter did not work as well as he hoped, the qualification validated the progress of his game and left him excited for the next stage.
In the ladies’ category, Kate Ngotho emerged as the Overall Lady Winner after carding 89 gross on countback, a significant personal milestone following a challenging previous season.
She said she was thrilled to top the field, explaining that last year had been a struggle, and that qualifying for the finale offered her the chance to compete against players from other clubs and prove herself as the best lady golfer.
Paul Kaguamba finished as the Men’s Runner-Up with 77 gross on countback, while Margareta Gram claimed the Ladies’ Runner-Up prize with 89 gross on countback.
In Division One, Kiunjuri Mathu emerged victorious with a score of 84 gross, followed by Liban Roba on 77 gross countback and Lesaan Shani on 78 gross countback.
Division Two saw Edwin Nyairo secure the Men’s title with 43 points, while Jacintah Wambugu took the Ladies’ honours with 38 points.
In Division Three, junior golfer Mutei Mwendwa won the Men’s category with 38 points, and Susan Kihato topped the Ladies’ category with 41 points.
Speaking after the tournament, NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora highlighted the continued growth of the Series as a reflection of golf’s rising popularity across the country and the importance of creating opportunities for golfers of all abilities to compete.
He emphasised that the NCBA Golf Series provides a platform for players to challenge themselves, connect with one another, and enjoy the game at some of the country’s finest courses, reaffirming NCBA’s commitment to supporting golf development nationwide.
The Karen event marked the sixteenth qualifier of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series calendar, which has attracted thousands of golfers across Kenya this season.
Winners from the various categories earned qualification spots to the highly anticipated Grand Finale set for November at Karen Country Club, underscoring NCBA’s broader investment in junior, amateur, professional, and club golf development.
