Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Stephen Motari Isaboke inspected ongoing construction works at Kionyo Health Centre in Masige East, Nyamache Sub-County.
Isaboke said the government has stepped up efforts to improve access to healthcare services at the grassroots.

His visit comes amid the expansion and upgrading of the facility, which has for decades served as a key healthcare provider for residents, particularly in maternal and child health services.
Once completed, the project is expected to transform Kionyo into a fully-fledged health centre capable of offering inpatient services and a wider range of medical care, reducing the need for residents to travel long distances in search of treatment.
Speaking during the inspection, Isaboke said the government remains committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring quality medical services are accessible to communities across the country.
The Principal Secretary also met local residents, briefed them on the progress of the project and outlined the government’s broader development agenda.
He said effective development requires leaders to remain engaged with citizens, understand their priorities and ensure public investments deliver tangible benefits to communities.
Residents welcomed the ongoing upgrade, saying the expanded facility is expected to improve access to healthcare services for thousands of people in Masige East and neighbouring areas.
The project is expected to boost healthcare delivery in the region by expanding service capacity and improving the quality of care available at the facility.
Kionyo Health Centre has long been a critical lifeline for the local community, and officials say the ongoing works will strengthen its ability to meet growing demand while supporting safer motherhood and improved health outcomes for families in the area.
