The Ministry of Interior and National Administration has angrily dismissed a front-page story in the Daily Nation linking Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen to a Sh20 billion land dispute.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the CS’s office described the article as “falsehoods circulating in one of the dailies” and accused the newspaper of dragging Murkomen into a matter in which he has no personal interest.

“The Cabinet Secretary has no involvement whatsoever in the Paradise Lost land dispute. Attempts to associate him with this matter are malicious and unfounded.”
The statement outlined four key points distancing Murkomen from the allegations, stressing that the CS has neither ownership nor claims over the contested 300 acres in Runda.
It further urged investigative authorities to act swiftly to protect genuine landowners from harassment and misinformation.
The Ministry condemned the report as an attempt to tarnish the reputation of senior government officials and warned against weaponizing family disputes for political gain.
“We will not allow false narratives to erode public trust in institutions. The truth must be protected, and those spreading lies held accountable,” the statement read.
The rebuttal came soon after the Daily Nation splashed claims that Murkomen, alongside MPs Oscar Sudi and Elijah Kururia, had been dragged into the high-stakes feud.
The Ministry insists the CS’s name was wrongly invoked and has called on the Inspector General and anti-graft agencies to investigate the matter thoroughly.
