The Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy has intensified discussions with global technology stakeholders as Kenya seeks to strengthen its digital infrastructure and prepare for future telecommunications technologies.
Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Stephen Isaboke held a high-level meeting with senior officials from an international technology firm led by Deputy CEO Sun Quan James.

The delegation also included Director for Policy and Partnerships Adam Lane and Special Advisor for Policy and Regulatory Affairs Daniel Obam.
The talks focused on improving the quality and resilience of Kenya’s digital connectivity, with discussions centering on network reliability, internet speeds, system resilience and user experience as the country accelerates its digital transformation agenda.
Officials said the meeting also examined Kenya’s preparedness to support major national and international events through secure and high-capacity communication systems capable of handling increasing digital demand.
The engagement further explored long-term spectrum planning and emerging global conversations around 6G technology, even as many countries continue expanding 5G infrastructure.
Government officials noted that early engagement on future communication technologies would help position Kenya competitively in the global digital economy while strengthening innovation and digital resilience.
The meeting underscored the growing role of public-private partnerships in expanding digital infrastructure, supporting innovation and enhancing regulatory frameworks to drive inclusive economic growth.
The discussions come as Kenya continues to pursue ambitious digital transformation programmes aimed at improving connectivity, boosting innovation and expanding access to digital services across the country.
