Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania on Thursday reaffirmed their joint commitment to successfully host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations under the PAMOJA banner.
Meeting in Kampala, Kenya’s Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya of Kenya, Peter Ogwang of Uganda and Paul Makonda of Tanzania joined CAF officials and football association leaders to review preparations.

The communiqué noted that “coordination in planning, timely execution, disciplined delivery, and a unified regional approach” will be critical to success.
The three nations outlined progress on stadium construction, transport networks, accommodation facilities and related infrastructure, pledging to meet CAF requirements within agreed timelines.
“Our governments are committed to ensuring all facilities meet the required CAF standards,” the ministers said, identifying August 2026 as a milestone for readiness review.
Hospitality and visitor experience were emphasized, with the countries promising to jointly position East Africa as a welcoming destination.
The communiqué described the tournament as “a catalyst for tourism, investment, trade and regional economic growth.”
The meeting also agreed on a PAMOJA Oversight Council to guarantee efficiency and accountability, and advanced plans for a regional visa framework to ease travel for fans, teams, officials and media.
The statement was signed by Mvurya, Ogwang and Makonda, underscoring the united resolve to deliver “a successful, memorable, and transformational 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.”
