A blanket of grief covered Nyanturago village in Kisii during the burial ceremony of four family members who died last week.
The four were a man identified as Charles James, his wife and their two children.

James is said to have butchered the children and wife before he took his life.
He had suspected his wife of having a secret love affair with his father.
Witnesses reported that James also injured his father and his third child during the attack.
When the incident occurred last week, area Chief Douglas Onchari said that the injured were rushed to the hospital.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) Mortuary where they were kept.
Yesterday, the bodies were removed and taken home for burial today.
Four caskets bearing the remains of the four were placed close to each other as the funeral programme went on.
Hundreds of people attended.
