Two researchers have written and published a book about incest and how it affects marriages among Abagusii people.
The book is titled, Dilema of Incest: Marriage among Abagusii of Kenya.

It sounds alarm over sexual relationships amongst close family members, which sometimes lead to marriage.
The book which has been authored by Pr Joel Okindo and Prof. Nathan Nyaundi was launched at the Kisii National Polytechnic on Thursday.
“We interviewed elders and young people alike, theologians and scientists,” Pr Okindo said.
The book has 15 chapters covering 225 pages.
It is segmented into four parts: history of Omogusii, position held Abagusii order of marriages, contemporary challenges facing Abagusii forcing their migration and how it affects marriage, and resolving the dilemma caused by incest.
It took the authors three years to execute the project to completion.
Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Julius Ogamba lauded the publication, calling it timely.
Ogamba’s speech was read by his emissary Dr Okibo Bichanga.
High Court Judge, Asnath Ongeri said the publication would be useful in the judiciary, schools and other institutions.
