Kisii County Women Representative, Doris Donya Aburi has lauded caregivers for being at the forefront in making the lives of people living with disabilities easier and comfortable.
Donya noted that caregivers were the unsung heroes and heroines due to their dedication, compassion, and tireless support.

She thanked the volunteers for their selflessness and for making a world of difference in the lives of persons living with disabilities.
“Your care is not only physical; it helps the vulnerable emotionally, mentally, and spiritually,” she said.
“You are the backbone of many, and your efforts should not go unnoticed.”
Donya made the observations during the International Day of Persons Living with Disabilities on Tuesday.
This year’s theme is: “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.”
The day reminds humanity of the immense strength, resilience, and potential within the disability community.
“At Donya Charity Mission, we have always believed in the importance of creating an inclusive society,” she said.
“Through our ongoing efforts across 45 wards in Kisii County, we have provided essential support to people living with disabilities.
“Through the charity, the County MP donates various gadgets such as wheelchairs to improve the mobility of persons living with disabilities.
This, she says, enhances educational opportunities, and facilitates empowerment programs.
“Our work continues to uplift those with disabilities, providing them with necessary tools to lead fulfilling lives and contribute to their communities,” she said.
She asked residents to unite in strengthening leadership, and build a more inclusive and sustainable future for everyone.
