West Mugirango MP Stephen Mogaka has thanked President William Ruto for visiting his constituency and the wider Gusii region, citing a raft of development commitments announced during the ongoing tour.
In a statement following the President’s second day of his four-day development tour, Mogaka welcomed the visit, saying it signals renewed focus on infrastructure and public services in Nyamira County.

“On behalf of the people of West Mugirango, I thank the President for visiting our constituency and the broader Gusii region. We welcome him back anytime,” he said.
The MP said the President had committed to the construction of modern markets in Nyamira Town, Nyamaiya and Miruka, each estimated to cost KSh350 million.
He noted that the projects, all within his constituency are expected to boost trade and support small-scale businesses.
Mogaka also highlighted the planned construction of the Magombo–Bondeni–Kebirigo–Motagara road, with the President expected to return in May to officially launch the project.
“The contract has already been advertised and is undergoing procurement,” he said.
Other projects outlined include a 40-kilometre water pipeline set to benefit about 15,000 households, as well as the construction of 20 classrooms and five laboratories in local institutions.
At the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Nyamira Campus, the President laid the foundation stone for 580-capacity hostels and pledged additional classrooms and laboratories to expand training capacity.
Mogaka further said the Nyamira Comprehensive School tuition block is nearing completion and appealed for an additional floor to be added to the facility.
