Pravin Orenge was elected house member, while Rages Kerubo, George Mainye, Lydia Momanyi and Stella Anyega joined the club’s committee.
Outgoing chairman Ayienda, former Kisii County Assembly Speaker David Kombo and medic John Kumenda were appointed trustees.
Speaking after his election, Anyoka called on members to unite behind the new leadership, regardless of their preferred candidates during the polls.
“I thank you for electing me as chairman. I also appreciate your effort in ensuring that I have a team to work with that is acceptable to the majority of our members. Going forward, let us move as a team regardless of who you voted for,” he said.
Ayienda, in his farewell address, challenged the incoming committee to build on the achievements recorded during his five-year tenure.
Under his leadership, the club maintained its participation in the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship circuit and won the Western Region Captain’s League for two consecutive years.
The club also undertook improvements to its golf course, gymnasium, swimming pool and tennis courts.
Ayienda said the club had expanded its reciprocal membership privileges from two clubs to more than 20 across the country, broadening the benefits available to its members.
The new committee takes over at a time when the club is seeking to sustain the gains made under the outgoing administration while strengthening its facilities and membership services.
Kisii Sports Club is regarded as one of Kenya’s oldest members’ clubs.
