In a statement issued on Thursday, the lawyer said he joined residents of Bonchari Constituency in mourning the two minors whose deaths have shocked the community.
“It is with profound shock and disbelief that I join the rest of Abanchari in mourning the demise of young girls,” Ombeta said.
He termed the killings a wake-up call on the safety of children in society.
“The killing of the minors raises a lot of questions on the safety of children in our societies,” he said.
Ombeta, who hails from the constituency called on detectives and other investigative agencies to move with speed in unravelling the circumstances surrounding the killings and prosecuting those responsible.
“I call upon the investigative agencies to act with speed and bring the perpetrators to book sooner than later,” he said.

According to police, the bodies of the two girls were discovered after they had been reported missing, prompting detectives to launch investigations into what authorities are treating as a murder case. Officers have appealed to members of the public with information that could assist the investigation to come forward as forensic and witness interviews continue.
The incident has plunged Nkura Village in Nyangoge Sub-location, Kisii South Sub-county, into mourning, with residents demanding justice and enhanced security for children.
The deaths have also reignited concerns over child safety in rural communities, with leaders urging parents, guardians and neighbours to remain vigilant.
Ombeta stressed that children deserve protection at all times.
“Children form the important path of our nation’s future aspirations; their safety and wellbeing is therefore non-negotiable,” he said.
While urging residents to remain calm as investigations continue, he appealed for compassion towards the bereaved families.
“I urge all of us to remain calm, maintain peace and mind the affected families with emotional care even as they go through this difficult time.”
