With just 13 months remaining before the next General Election, President William Ruto’s allies have intensified grassroots mobilisation efforts, traversing the country to popularise the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development agenda and drum up support for his re-election bid.
At the forefront of the campaign is the Jamii Imara Mashinani (JIM) team, a group comprising Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, board chairpersons, chief executive officers and directors of various government agencies.

The team has developed a coordinated approach that combines public engagement with direct responses to wananchi’s concerns, while highlighting government projects and services in different regions.
This weekend, the team pitched camp in Narok County under the leadership of Public Health and Professional Standards Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni, holding a series of engagements with residents across the county.
The delegation included experts and representatives from various government institutions, enabling residents to seek answers directly from officials responsible for key sectors such as health, roads, agriculture and other areas of public service.
At a public baraza held in Ololung’a, leaders urged residents to reject what they described as misinformation and falsehoods being spread by political opponents against the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking during the meeting, PS Muthoni said the government remained focused on delivering development programmes and services to Kenyans.
She also called on members of the public to take advantage of Community Health Promoters, who have been trained and equipped to collect health data and support healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.
“We want Kenyans to remain vigilant about their health and make use of the Community Health Promoters who have been equipped and trained to ensure communities remain healthy,” said Muthoni.
KEMSA Board Chairperson and former Narok Governor Samuel Tunai defended the government’s development record, arguing that the administration had demonstrated commitment to serving citizens across the country.
Tunai also highlighted government initiatives benefiting the Maa community while rallying support for President Ruto’s bid for a second term in office.
“The Ruto administration has been forthright in championing development across the country,” Tunai said, while dismissing criticism from opposition leaders.
The JIM team has so far conducted similar engagements in approximately 12 counties and is often accompanied by senior government officers originating from the regions they visit, who help explain ongoing projects and programmes in their respective sectors.
Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) Board Chairperson Winnie Ngumi also addressed residents, urging Kenyans to continue supporting the government’s development agenda.
The continued county tours underscore the administration’s efforts to strengthen its grassroots presence and build support ahead of the 2027 General Election, with government officials increasingly combining service delivery forums with political mobilisation activities.
