President William Ruto has congratulated Gor Mahia Football Club for clinching their record-extending 22nd FKF Premier League title, describing the victory as a celebration of excellence, resilience, and teamwork.
Speaking at State House during the presentation of the Premier League trophy, the President lauded K’Ogalo’s consistency and winning culture, which he said continues to define the club as a pillar of Kenyan football.

“On behalf of the people and Government of Kenya, I extend my warmest congratulations to Gor Mahia Football Club for winning the 2025/26 FKF Premier League title, your record-extending 22nd league championship, a remarkable achievement that further cements your place as the most successful club in the history of Kenyan football,” President Ruto said.
He highlighted the team’s resilience in reclaiming the crown after losing it last season, noting crucial performances such as the Mashemeji Derby that shaped their campaign.
“Your journey was not easy. Only a year ago, you relinquished the title. Yet instead of accepting disappointment, you responded with determination, discipline, and belief,” he said.
“You reclaimed the crown and reminded the nation why the name Gor Mahia remains synonymous with success.”
The President praised the club’s contribution to national football, pointing out that Gor Mahia provided the highest number of players to Harambee Stars for the African Nations Championship.
He emphasized that the victory was not only for the club but for Kenya as a whole. “Your success is therefore not only a victory for your club, but also a victory for Kenya,” he said.
Looking ahead to the CAF Champions League, Ruto expressed confidence in Gor Mahia’s ability to represent Kenya with pride and distinction, recalling their historic 1987 Africa Cup Winners’ Cup triumph as proof of what disciplined ambition can achieve.
He assured the team of continued government support, pledging investment in grassroots talent, infrastructure, and professional sports management to strengthen Kenya’s competitiveness.
