Starehe Boys’ Centre emerged victorious in the 2026 Vivo Energy Kenya Sustainability Community Football Tournament after edging out Kamkunji High School 1-0 in a thrilling final played at Starehe Boys’ Centre.
In the girls’ category, Kariobangi North Girls High School delivered a commanding performance, defeating Starlight Senior Academy 15-1 to clinch the title.

The week-long tournament, held under the theme “Kicking Off for Sustainability”, was part of Vivo Energy Kenya’s Sustainability Week celebrations.
It brought together seven teams from five schools — Starehe Boys’ Centre, Kariobangi High School, Kamkunji High School, Starlight Secondary School, and Mogra Star Academy — showcasing exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination from both boys and girls.
Speaking during the awards ceremony, Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Peter Murungi reaffirmed the company’s commitment to nurturing young talent and driving sustainable growth through community partnerships.
“We are incredibly proud to champion and provide equal opportunities to boys and girls to discover and develop their talents. Through initiatives such as this football tournament, we are investing in young talent, promoting inclusivity, and helping build a brighter future for the next generation,” he said.
Murungi further highlighted the importance of collaboration, noting, “Our partnership with Alive and Kicking reflects our belief in empowering young people through access to quality sports equipment and opportunities.”
As part of this initiative, each participating team received 10 footballs to support ongoing training and skills development beyond the tournament.
The Sustainability Week 2026 Community Football Tournament marks another milestone in Vivo Energy Kenya’s efforts to inspire positive change through programmes that promote health, education, and youth talent development, while fostering sustainable community growth across Kenya.
