Vet Lab Sports Club golfer Ebill Omollo produced a sensational final-round comeback to clinch the NCBA Coronation & Bendor Trophy at Nakuru Golf Club, overturning an overnight deficit to claim victory in dramatic fashion.
Omollo entered the final round trailing leaders William Odek and Eugine Wafula but delivered the tournament’s best score—a level-par 72—to surge past the field and lift the title after the 54-hole championship.

The Vet Lab golfer opened with rounds of 78 and 76 before saving his finest performance for Sunday, finishing the tournament on seven-over-par 226.
Odek mounted a strong challenge but settled for second place on nine-over-par 228, while Muthaiga Golf Club’s Eugine Wafula finished third on 10-over-par 229.
The battle for top honours remained intense until the closing holes, with Felix Dusabe and Josphat Rono of Golf Park Golf Club and Kamoza Longwe of Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club sharing fourth place after all three finished on 11-over-par 230.
Meanwhile, six golfers secured coveted spots in the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale following impressive performances during the Moi Airbase Golf Club Mug held on Saturday.
The qualifiers will advance to the season-ending showdown at Karen Country Club on November 28, where they will compete against top performers from qualifying events held across the region.
In Division One, Dr. Ayub Shitsewa emerged as the Men’s Winner after carding 68 nett off a handicap of nine, while Christine Kamais claimed the Ladies’ Winner title with a score of 69 nett, also playing off handicap nine.
Phillip Oduma dominated Division Two, posting an impressive 65 nett off a handicap of 24 to win the men’s category. Joy Nyagi secured qualification as the Ladies’ Winner in the division after returning 72 nett off a handicap of 25.
Livingstone Odero booked his place in the Grand Finale by winning Division Three with an outstanding 60 nett off a handicap of 34, while junior golfer Kristopher Mwangi impressed with a 61 nett off a handicap of 41 to claim the Junior Winner title and qualification spot.
The tournament attracted 83 golfers, with Roselyne Kiriswa taking home the guest prize after carding an excellent 63 nett off a handicap of 50.
Attention now shifts to the next leg of the NCBA Golf Series, with a regional double-header scheduled for June 13 at Kakamega Golf Club and Uganda Golf Club, where more golfers will be chasing qualification spots for the Grand Finale.
